Your eating habits play a huge role in keeping your body in good health. With healthy eating you’ll have the vitamins and minerals you need, much more energy and strength, and the ability to maintain a healthy weight.
1. Don’t skip meals
Eating 3 meals a day with small snacks in between is the best way to maintain both energy and a healthy weight. We’ve all been there at some point, when you skip meals you get really hungry. When your really hungry your more likely to choose foods that aren’t very good for you. Your also more likely to eat more food at one sitting then you would have been if you didn’t miss a meal earlier in the day.
2. Learn to prepare foods better
Instead of deep frying, try grilling, stir frying, microwaving, baking, and even boiling. You should also try fresh or even dried herbs and spices to add flavor to your food. It also helps if before you eat any type of meat, you make sure to trim the fat and skin off of it.
3. Here’s the no brainer- Avoid a lot of sugar
Sugary soft drinks contain a lot of sugar. If you plan to drink sugary drinks, don’t go overboard-limit yourself to 1 a day. Eating sugar in moderation is a must in order to maintain a healthy diet.
4. Eat Moderate Portions
This one is an easy one to remember but can be difficult in practice. Its quiet simple really. When you eat, eat in moderation. Always be asking yourself if you are eating in moderation. Do I really need the appetizer? I really want that other slice of pizza but do I really need it? The hard part is taking that extra step after you ask these questions. It’s up to you to take that extra step and eat moderately.
5. Consider a planned diet
This one can really help. Plan out a daily diet on your calendar. If you don’t have enough time to plan your meals there are plenty of diet plans out there that are ready and waiting for you to try. Like this paleo diet recipe book and meal plan. The information is out there you just have to take that first step and make it happen.
