It’s as old as time. Where do you go for the first date? It can be a little bit tricky at times. But before we get into where you should go lets cover where you should NOT go first.
Should you go with the old standby dinner and a movie date?
Nope, that’s a poor choice. Its next to impossible to have a meaningful conversation in a dark theater with a movie being shown. Not to mention the subject matter of the film might not be conducive to creating a joyful and memorable evening.
This shouldn’t even need to be said but, don’t take her to your parent’s house. They’ll probably think you’re a mama’s boy or a dady’s girl. You’re in the big leagues now, this is the adult dating world not highschool.
Finally don’t take her to a sleazy bar. Bar’s often have loud music playing and now your back to square one with the inability to have a meaningful conversation. You don’t want to have your first date experience in some dirty hole in the wall where you’re unable to find a clean seat to sit in.
Now on to the good options. It’s really not that complicated. Start with a simple lunch or coffee date. Try to go for a casual vibe for your first outing together. This is a great option because if the date didn’t go to well you can still high tail it out of there, if on the other hand it did go well then you guys have the rest of the day to enjoy each other’s company and get to know one another.
Another good option is an amusement park. This is a great option because there is so much to do and so much going on at theme parks that it’s much easier for both of you to forget about the first date pressure.
Another great choice would be any kind of museum. Just make sure it’s a museum that covers a mutual interest for both of you.
First date locations aren’t that complicated. Just stick with a few basic rules and you should be fine. Keep the day’s vibe casual and go somewhere that you can both talk and get to know each other.
